Materials

The joint is the detail.

We signal quality with structure, not effects: seasoned hardwood, pegged joinery, real gilding, upholstery you can name. Everything below is drawn from the pieces currently in the collections — nothing listed that we don't actually build with.

Timbers

Seasoned mahogany for carved frames and bed posts. Solid teak where the joinery is left exposed. Figured walnut for showcases, beech for chair frames, kiln-dried pine for plinth bases, cherry and rosewood for finishes and arm caps.

Every frame is pegged mortise-and-tenon — no staples, no brackets doing structural work.

Finishes

Water gilding and gold-picked carving done in the workshop, not applied transfer. Hand-rubbed cream and ivory lacquers, matte black lacquer, silver leaf on the state beds, and polished natural timber where the grain is the point.

Upholstery

Cotton-backed velvet in royal blue, teal, emerald, charcoal and blush. Woven damask panels, chunky bouclé with removable covers, hand-embroidered floral panels, channel stitching, diamond button tufting, and full-grain leather in brown, black and oxblood.

Hardware & stone

Solid brass bar pulls, brass nailhead trim set by hand one stud at a time, soft-close runners, toughened and curved glass, and cream, ivory and onyx-figured marble tops.
